Ty Alexander Cheng
Yoga came into Ty's life through his seventeen-year professional dance career, in contemporary, classical ballet, and modern dance forms. His yoga practice began as a way to create more space in the body and to prepare his mind for training and performing. He experienced, first hand, the transformational power yoga offers, to balance the body systems, to bring clarity and focus in the mind, and to heal.
In Ty's classes, students are invited to be challenged by the postures while being comfortable and steady both physically and mentally. His teaching style is clean, direct, simple, and accessible to all. He uses clear directions, respectful corrections, and frequent demonstrations.
Ty has followed a 200-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training, a 50-hour Vinyasa YTT, and has assisted a 200-hour Hatha YTT.
